Resort to Floral Embellishments!

Just like last year's resort collections, this year too designers have included 3D flower embellishments in their collections. But this time, instead of the big size flowers, more of small flowers have been seen concentrated in substantial quantity on skirts, dresses and jackets. I have always admired simple silhouettes with intricate surface designs and that is exactly what Resort 2015 has to offer. Flowers always look fresh and pretty, when they blossom off bodices as appliqués and rendered in lush fabrics. Blooming in flower power gives you that sweetness and incredibly feminine look. Whether it be pastel or bold colours, they'll look exemplary for garden parties and brunches.

YSL 'Wildly Gold' Palette (Limited Edition)

A makeup palette is a go-to product when it comes to travelling. One doesn't have to carry different packs each for eyeshadows, blush, lip colours etc. every time you travel. You can have everything in one place and the makeup regime becomes hassle-free when travelling. Last Christmas, I received Yves Saint Laurent 'Wildly Gold' Palette (Limited Edition) as a gift. I had been longing for a makeup palette since months and voila, I just can't get over it! It features bold eyeshadows, classic light pink blush, must-have lip colours and brushes which can help you flaunt a glamorous look for any party. This gorgeous makeup palette comes encased in a chic leopard-print case and golden paper box which looks perfect to gift to your dear ones. I loved the way Nordstrom had it gift wrapped too. After using the product for some time now, I can say that its worth it to invest in YSL cosmetics, as the makeup stays strong for long and the colours look vibrant.

I'd say its a perfect Valentine's Day gift too... just a few days to go!!! ;)

Valentino offers psychedelic prints for Spring!

Early in January, when I was at a high-fashion mall, I stopped by the Valentino store. The Resort'15 collection had just hit the store. And there they were ... everything ranging from clothes to accessories painted in psychedelic designs and prints. The chevrons, stripes, zigzags, checks and bold colours moulded into 60s silhouettes looked flamboyant. The multicoloured stripes looked even more vivid and dream-like on the classic rockstud shoes and handbags. A theme ran into the window display which highlighted "Peace" in different world languages.

Few of the ensembles outlining bold colours and the psychedelic prints from the house's Resort 2015 collection are featured here.

The trend that was a huge hit for Fall 14: Blanket Capes

When I saw the Burberry Prorsum Colour Block Check Blanket Poncho on the runway worn by supermodel Cara Delevingne with her initials on it, I set my heart on it. The Poncho has been in so much demand that the official online Burberry store has it out of stock now. But for all those lovely ladies including SJP, Olivia Palermo, Rosie HW, etc. who got their hands on this one of a kind piece, I bet its a priced possession. The Blanket Capes had been a huge hit for Fall 14, the trend being captured by not only designer labels but fast fashion retailers as well.

Sleeveless Coats trending this Winter!

We have been wearing sleeveless jackets for ages. But sleeveless coats? Coats are meant to be cozy and snug, with sleeves all the way up to your palms. Those are one big investment in winters as they make you look fitting for the season as well as smart. But ever thought how would these coats look without sleeves? Definitely, amusing! Some of the labels in fashion like Victoria Beckham, Celine, Dior etc. have incorporated this element into their lines this winter. As much as outlandish it may sound, but these coats do look uber chic. For pleasant weather, these could be worn directly over a trouser or skirt. For cities where the temperature goes down steeply, these could be complemented with full-sleeves turtle necks or sweaters. Here are a few of my favorite picks...
