Valentino offers psychedelic prints for Spring!

Early in January, when I was at a high-fashion mall, I stopped by the Valentino store. The Resort'15 collection had just hit the store. And there they were ... everything ranging from clothes to accessories painted in psychedelic designs and prints. The chevrons, stripes, zigzags, checks and bold colours moulded into 60s silhouettes looked flamboyant. The multicoloured stripes looked even more vivid and dream-like on the classic rockstud shoes and handbags. A theme ran into the window display which highlighted "Peace" in different world languages.

Few of the ensembles outlining bold colours and the psychedelic prints from the house's Resort 2015 collection are featured here.

Celebrating 125th at Lanvin!

Little did Jeanne Lanvin know exactly 125 years ago when she used to design clothes for her daughter that she would be remembered as a great couturier. The haute couture house Lanvin celebrated their 125th anniversary with the launch of its Spring 2015 collection. Lanvin was renowned for her skilful use of embroidery and her fine craftsmanship. There was a vivid feminity in her clothes.

For the Spring 2015 collection, the present creative director Alber Elbaz went down the memory lane to create a collection to commemorate the founder of the house and pay his tribute for the 125th anniversary to the French fashion house. With the models, designs, silhouettes, reinterpretations and iconic elements all blasted from the past with a strong, simple yet dramatic emphasis on the women who wear Lanvin.

Elbaz gave a new definition to simplicity. The silhouettes were simple and chic. There were sheer fabrics as well as brocades. There were masculine silhouettes like blazers and pants as well as feminine like dresses, skirts, spaghetti tops etc. The collection is about true elegance which comes from chic tailoring and chic little dresses and there is also romanticism in the form of brocades and prints. It's about timeless designs which truly is what the house stands for.

If we look into the archives, the Lanvin woman has always been carefree yet elegant. There is always a mesmerizing touch to the collections which speak of darkness, raw finishes, ruffles, splendor, admiration and love.

Anushka Sharma at Burberry Prorsum Spring 2015 Front Row

The very vivacious Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma, was recently spotted at the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2015 Front Row held at Kensington Gardens, London, England. She donned a navy side-slit dress, patterned scarf and printed booties, all from the house's  Fall 2014 collection. Her ensemble was complemented with a green Burberry Prorsum ‘Bloomsbury’ bag from the same collection. Overall her ensemble looked sophisticated yet playful with the bold and contrasting prints and colors.
