The CHANEL 2.55 - An investment worth it!

The Chanel 2.55 (Classic Flap Bag) is well-known for its iconic status in the fashion industry and has been a wardrobe staple for many fashionistas. Its a style statement, an investment, status symbol, and but of course a utility product. It's a noted fashion product spotted on the rich and famous. But, for many others it's like an investment. People save for months to fulfill their dream of owning this classic flap bag. It's one of those luxury products which can make your heart skip a beat. You just don't want to own it because it carries with it a status symbol. Instead, it has sentimental value attached with it. For me, I just admire the very fact that this bag was designed to overcome a major issue that women faced every day in 1920s. And now, this very bag is on the list of top luxury products to invest in. I admire its design and moreover I admire the feeling which comes from owning it.

Chanel 2.55 - Classic Flap Bag

Originally designed in 1929, the Chanel 2.55 is an updated version of the original design. The bag is named 2.55 after the date of creation, February 1955.

The bag's lining comes in burgundy color. There is a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. The backside has a back outside flap for storage of money/documents. The double-chain shoulder straps are attached by leather-threaded chain inserted though eyelets. The bag features a lock in the shape of a double CC logo. The bag has a quilted diamond or herringbone pattern on the exterior.

Several variations have been introduced which come in different colors, leather/fabric combinations, metal and interwoven leather straps and the lock, mademoiselle vs. interlocking CC.

The Devil wears Prada!

I recently spotted the Prada 'Minimal Baroque' inspired sunglasses here at Sunglass Hut which were popularized during Spring'11. Filled with jazz, twists and boldness, this pair of sunglasses is your perfect go-to accessory for Fall.

Even though these are considered past the prime, this chic design now comes in variations and has become all the rage. So for all those who would like to bring in the drama and wilderness, pick one which suits your personality.

A long sabbatical gets over!

It's been a long sabbatical and a really long break from when I last posted. So, a welcome back to all my readers.

Today, I am sharing a dress that I made last summer. I was quite inspired by the Prada Fall 2012 RTW collection and hence I made a shift dress with embellishment inspired by the collection. I liked almost all the pieces in the collection. As Miuccia has said rightly, "This collection is about the pleasure of fashion and not any particular theory." Well, I quite admire her for this, as I am sick of theories too. There were futuristic fashion, embellishments, Menswear inspired coat dresses, power-dressing, seduction, and above all a feeling that a princess is wearing them.

Self-designed Magenta Embellished Dress
My self-designed dress has a shift silhouette and features embellishment in the form of rhinestones, sequins and beads. I chose a magenta suede silk fabric for the dress. I would love to wear this dress with a thin black belt and black pumps.

Orange with Blossoms

Apparently this is my first post of the new year.
So how was everybody's new year celebrations?
I bet it might had been a great soiree, no matter what, we all long for it.
My January went by in a jiffy.
Too many things and events happening one after another.
And so, I had to keep myself completely away from the one thing I love to spend time on, designing.
But I did complete this one thing I was working on.
I just bought a Plain Orange V-neck T-shirt from a retail outlet here, embellished it with lace flowers, sequins, beads and bows, and voila I have a DIY Embellished Top ready to wear at a friend's party.
Check it out ;)

Have a great year ahead fellas!
